Windows fit for a Hollywood legend

Windows fit for a Hollywood legend

Even if you’ve never seen a Cary Grant movie, you probably know the name. He was one of most famous Hollywood stars throughout the 30s, 40s and 50s. His classic good looks, sharp suits and Brylcream hairstyle are iconic.

Last week he was back in the news because a Blue Plaque memorializing his childhood home was unveiled to much fanfare and national media coverage. As the footage aired showing a local dignitary pulling aside a curtain to reveal the sign, messages started dropping into the Blossom & Brush inbox.

“Your window designs are on the TV!”. “Is that Blossom & Brush on Cary Grant’s house?” “Your work on the national news”.

It was very exciting. And all the more interesting because the house in question is round the corner from where I live in Bishopton, Bristol. Blossom & Brush started out as hand-painted window art commissions, which tended to be local.

As a result, Bristol has more than its fair share of window’s sporting the designs, although there are very few of the original hand painted pieces left. Most are the high-quality window film that lasts for years.

In fact, the owner of Cary Grant’s childhood home got in touch to say the film is still going strong years after she bought it.

I’m sure you’d agree, the windows are fit for Hollywood legend. And they’d be fit for you too!
